Hilda Huffman

Hilda “Irene” Huffman, 84, of the Back Creek Community of Highland County, died Thursday, May 10, 2007, at Pendleton Nursing Home. She was born April 13, 1923 in Monterey a daughter of the late John Luther and Laura Blanche (Sipe) Hiner.
Mrs. Huffman was a homemaker. She was a member of the Beulah Presbyterian Church and Weekday Religious Education.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob Andrew Huffman; a son, Wayne Huffman; three brothers, Arnet (Joe), John and Glen Hiner and two sisters, Mona Small and Lucy Shumate.
She is survived by a daughter, Shirley E. Huffman of Monterey; a sister, Rella Pearl DeAscentis of Monterey; a brother, Thomas L. Hiner of Montgomery, TX and a number of nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 13, 2007 at Beulah Presbyterian Church by the Rev. Richard S. Gibson and Rev. Donald E. Rose. Burial will be in Monterey Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell.
