Hilda Rose Gordon, 81, of Franklin, W.Va. left this earth to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 2005, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, W.Va. She was born Dec. 24, 1923, at North Dry Run, a daughter of the late Darlie and Mary Elizabeth Nelson Bennett and was reared by the loving Robert and Dobie Warner.
Mrs. Gordon retired from Aileen Inc. She was a member of Walnut Street United Methodist Church. She was an active volunteer for C.A.N. in Pendleton County. She had been a resident of Pendleton Nursing Home for the past year two years.
On May 11, 1940, she married Vernon Guy Gordon, who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by a brother and five sisters.
She is survived by her children, Rodger Lee Gordon and his wife, Lori, of Charlottesville, Va., Mary Rose Hinkle and her husband, Ralph, of Marlinton, W.Va., Judy Mae Propst and her husband, Eston, of Moyers, W.Va. and Terry Guy Gordon and wife, Judy, of Cherry Grove, W.Va.
She was blessed with five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Randolph and Herman Bbennett; two sisters, Leola Genobles and Cornelia Hutchins and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 17, 2005 at Blue Grass Cemetery by the Rev. Craig Ritchie and Jesse Nelson to celebrate her life.
