Hazel Mullenax

Hazel Mullenax, 85, formerly of Bartow, WV, died Wednesday, January 7, 1998 at Homewood Nursing Home in Williamsport. She had resided the past five years with her daughter, Helen Cook of Hagerstown.

Born September 5, 1912 in Highland County, Va., she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Harriet Mullenax.

Her husband, Lester Calhoun Mullenax, preceded her in death on October 1, 1989.

She was a faithful member of the Church of God at Durbin.

She is survived by four sons, Murrel of Horseshow, N.C., Dale of Hagerstown, Md, Arthur "bud" and Wallace, both of Bartow; four daughters Helen Cook and Arlene Hause, both of Hagerstown, Charlene Gossard of Williamsport, and Linda Mallow of Harman; one sister, Ethel Rexrode of Hightown; 16 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two sons, Melvin and Aaron; a granddaughter, Bonita Cook; grandson, Wallace Dean and great-grandson, Nathanael Shatzer.

Services will be Sunday, January 11 at 11 a.m. at Obaugh Funeral Home. Brother Gregory Tyler will officiate. Burials will be at the Mullenax Cemetery on Allegheny Mountain in Highland County.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home, Saturday, January 10, 7-9 p.m.
