Hazel Butler Lockridge, 92, died Thursday, December 27, 2001 at her residence in the Oak Hill Center.
She was born May 10, 1909 at Burnsville, a daughter of George W. and Della Harouff Butler.
On March 20, 1937 she married A. Lee Lockridge who preceded her in death on September 4, 1979. They made their home in the Williamsville/Burnsville community in Highland County and she was a member of the Burnsville United Methodist Church, The Highland Home Demonstration Club and The Presbyterian Women’s Circle.
She also was preceded in death by two brothers, Ardmore and Bill Butler.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Audrey L. and Bobby Botkin of Waynesboro; four grandchildren Brenda Whitesel, R.E. Botkin, Jr., Phyllis Botkin and Gary L. Botkin, all of Staunton; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Whitesel, Mia Botkin, Andrew Botkin and Kendal Lynn Botkin, all of Staunton; a sister-in-law Marie H. Butler of Winchester; and a niece and her husband, Patsy and the Rev. Robert Standback of Winchester.
A funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Robert Standback officiating. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., prior to the service. The burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, December 31 in Oak Lawn Mausoleums and Memory Gardens.
Active pallbearers will be Larry and Shirril Botkin, A.C. Powers, Jr., Johnny and Bobby Lockridge, Harry Falls, Willy Webb and Roy Lee Grant.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
