Hazel Colemond Gutshall

Hazel Colemond Gutshall, 95, of Monterey died on Tuesday night, September 27, 1994 at Augusta Medical Center.

She was born on December 10, 1898 at Meadowdale, a daughter of Edward and Julie (Gum) Woods.

On December 31, 1922 she married John Willie David Gutshall who died on December 14, 1971.

She was a member of Green Hill United Methodist Church.

Surviving are four daughters, Herthel Chestnut of Verona, Arlene Peters of Mechanicsville, Russie Peters of Virginia Beach and Darlie King of Monterey; three sons, Hunter and Hartzel, both of Perry, Florida and Harlan Gutshall of Richmond; 16 grandchildren and 14 great-grandsons.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a great-granddaughter, Jolene Gutshall on September 25, 1994.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Ginn, with burial at Monterey Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Jack Peters Jr., Kwinton, Terry, Darrin and Kirk King, Mark and Dean Chestnut and Donald Gutshall and Bucky Smith.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
