Harry "Saul" Simmons

Harry J. "Saul" Simmons, 64, died on Wednesday, January 13, 1999 at University of Virginia Medical Center.

He was born on March 24, 1934, at Vanderpool, a son of Harry Gabriel and Edith Flavey (Simmons) Simmons.

He was a farmer, a member of Hightown United Methodist Church and served in the Army, stationed in Korea.

On June 10, 1955, he married Edith Colaw, who survives.

Also surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Vicky Simmons of Hightown, a granddaughter, Jessica E. Simmons of Hightown; and a brother, Keith Simmons of Monterey.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Jospeh C. Bradford and Jerry Ginn with burial in Blue Grass Cemetery.

Pallbeares will be Doug Gutshall, Ben Stephenson, George Smith Jr., Richard J. Hevener, Robert Warner and Donald Hedrick.

Honorary pallbeares will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friend from 6:30-8:30 tonight at the funeral home.
