Harry W. “Gooch” Waybright, 85, died Tuesday, November 9, 1999 at The Springs Nursing Home.
He was born April 22, 1914 at Redondo Beach, California, a son of Charles Pickney and Annie (Blagg) Waybright.
He was a retired painter, a member of Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church and a charter member of the Highland County Volunteers Fire Department.
His wife Thelma (Gutshall) Waybright, preceded him in death on March 14, 1996.
Also preceding him in death were his son, Tommy Gene Waybright; a sister, Lucille (Waybright) Parker; and three brothers, Marvin, Robert and Charles Waybright.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Elmer and Carol Waybright of Monterey; three daughters and sons-in-law, Karen and Raymond Milburn of Richmond, Sandra and Will Irby of Dabney and Kathy Hall of Monterey; a sister-in-law, Jane Waybright of Monterey; eight grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a step grandson; a step great-grandson; nieces and nephews.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Friday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald E. Rose, with burial in Hamilton Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Richie Hicks, Gary Hoke, Buddy Rexrode, Tom and Robert Whitelaw, C.W. Hammer, Jerry Rexrode and Steve Stephenson.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Victory Chapel Advent Christian church and friends attending the service.
The family will receive friend from 7-8 tonight at the funeral home.
