Harry Edward Moyers, 86, of Monterey died Wednesday, February 19, 2003 at his residence.
He was born April 29, 1916 in Hightown, a son of the late Wilbur and Maude Simmons Moyers.
On October 14, 1939, he married Mazie Florence Simmons, who preceded him in death on Oct. 17, 2002. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Blanche Gunnoe, and three brothers Jesse, John and Bob Moyers.
Mr. Moyers had worked at Home Oil in Hot Springs and retired from Highland Oil in Monterey. He was a member of the Highland Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Gene and Alberta Moyers, Kyle and Joy Moyers and Rodger and Linda Moyers, all of Monterey; five grandchildren, Eddie, Melissa, Barry, Perry and Jamey Moyers; five great-grandchildren, Shana Roberts, Whitney Hunt, Lindsay, Carrie and Ransom Lee Moyers; and a sister, Kate Hise of Hightown.
A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 22, 2003 at the Highland Baptist Church by the Rev. Jerry Ginn. Burial will be in the Green Hill Cemetery in Churchville.
Active pallbearers will be Eddie, Jamey, Barry and Perry Moyers, Dean Hunt, Steve Hise and Austin Shepherd.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Obaugh Funeral Home.
