Harold Woodlief “Bubba” Outten, 68, of Mustoe died Thursday, June 10, 2004 at his residence.
He was born July 10, 1935 in Alexandria, a son of the late Harold Brandtly and Christine Woodlief Outten.
On September 26, 1998, he married Phyllis Carpenter McMillion.
Mr. Outten served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of Word of Faith Church and an alumnus of the University of Virginia. Mr. Outten was a professional football play for the Detroit Lions and the Chicago Bears. He owned and operator a marina and also owned Cavalier Marine Sales in Alexandria. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Outten of Mustoe; two step-daughters, Amy Raley of Panama City, Fla. And Connie Turner of Monterey; a step-son, Maj. Gregory McMillion of the United States Air Force; a sister and brother-in-law, Darlene O. and Pastor Chip Hill of Monterey; a god-son, Richard Redmond and a god-grandson, Sean Richard Redmond, both of Spotsylvania; a special friend, Nancy Redmond of Alexandria; two nephews, Bruce and Jachin Hill and a niece, Ashton Hill.
The body was cremated.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m., Saturday, June 19 at Word of Faith Church by Pastor Malcolm W. “Chip” Hill.
