Harness Earl "Jock" Alt, 90, of Verona died Thursday afternoon, October 8, 1992 in King's Daughters' Hospital.
He was born August 7, 1902 in Grant County, WV, a son of the late David C. and Virginia (Kimble) Alt.
On October 9, 1927, he married Ella Viola Wagner who died December 15, 1980.
He had attended the United Methodist Church.
He was a retired farmer and had been employed as a shovel operator for 35 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Helen A. Sullivan of Verona; a son, Earl D. Alt of Verona; two sisters, Nina Sabo and Dora Vanmeter, both of Petersburg, WV; three brothers, Luther of Harrisonburg, Arch of Cumberland, Md., and Raymond Alt of Petersburg, WV; three grandsons, Douglas Hiner of Mount Sidney, Michael Hiner of Edinburg, and David Alts of Verona; and one great-granddaughter, Natalie Hiner of Mount Sidney.
A service will be conducted 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral by the Rev. Rudy Tucker Jr.
Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Lucius Stephenson, James Smiley Jr., C.W. Hammer, Hoyle Helms, Randolph Samples and Carl Mullins.
The family will receive friend 7-8:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of his daughter.
