GLOUCESTER, VA Glenn Walter Mullenax, 76, of Gloucester passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at Walter Reed Convalescent Center. He was born February 25, 1938 in Blue Grass a son of the late Ray and Thelma (Mullenax) Mullenax. Mr. Mullenax retired from the Virginia Department of Transportation after 40 years of service. He was a former member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church, an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He is survived by his best friend and mother of his daughters, Charlotte Hefner Mullenax of Gloucester; daughters, Paula Mullenax of Hayes and Pamela Brown and her husband, David of Gloucester; two grandchildren, David and Candice Brown; two sisters, Harriet Cox of Staunton and Phyllis McKee of Clinton, NC and his brother, James Mullenax of Staunton. His son, Otis Glenn Mullenax, preceded him in death. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Tuesday, May 13, 2014 at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Andre Crummett officiating. Burial will follow in Union Chapel Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Arlen Breeden, Harry Swecker, Seth Smith, Bob Rexrode, Bill Mullenax and Richard Mullenax. Honorary pallbearers will be June Swecker, William Rexrode, Gene Mullenax, Bud Mullenax, Nathan McKee, David McKee, Ross Hefner and Dennis Hull. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
