Gladys Eugenia Kay Hite, 81, of Warm Springs, died Monday, November 5, 2007 at her home. She was born November 21, 1925 at Bacova a daughter of the late Robert Lee and Sylvia G. (Woodzell) Kay.
Mrs. Hite was a loving wife, homemaker and a family caregiver. She was also a waitress at Warm Springs Inn for over 25 years. She was a lifelong member of Starr Bolar United Methodist Church. She loved to crochet and listen to Christian music.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Hite; four brothers, infant Ralph Lee, Edward, Harper and Everett Kay, Sr. and a nephew, Robert Kay.
She is survived by a nephew, Everett “Petie” Kay, Jr. and wife, Julie of Warm Springs, with whom she made her home and a large number of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Friday, November 9, 2007 at Starr Bolar United Methodist Church by the Rev. Beyong Ahn and Rev. Donald Altizer.
Burial will be in the Woodzell Family Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Travis, Gordon and Anthony Kay, William J. Robertson, Kenny Robertson, Bedford Sharp, Jr., Vernon Lowry and Jim Lindsay. The United Methodist Women of the church will serve as flower bearers.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
