Gladys Marie (Siron) Beverage, 88, of Monterey, passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019, surrounded by family at her home.
She was born in Highland County on December 7, 1930, a daughter of the late Abel Seabrook and Cliffie Belle (Anthony) Siron. On July 30, 1948, she married John Steve Beverage, who preceded her in death on January 18, 2017.
Gladys always said her favorite job was working as a waitress at the Four Winds Restaurant. She also had worked at Aileen, ultimately retiring from Jessico.
A woman of strong faith, Gladys was a member of Word of Faith Church, who loved to spread her faith and never met a stranger. She was an excellent cook, who enjoyed entertaining company, especially all her grandchildren.
She is survived by daughters, Shirley Wimer of Franklin, WV, Betty Arbaugh and husband, Lonnie of Monterey, Linda Arbaugh and husband, Dwight of Circleville, WV and Denita Pyle and husband, Todd of Fredericksburg; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandsons, which includes her special little buddy, Brady Mullins; one great-great-granddaughter; brother, Ralph “Toby” Siron and wife Sue of Churchville; sisters Connie Kolpack of Highland, Md., Anna Lee Samples of Monterey and Nellie Goebel of Barboursville, as well as a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two grandsons, Wesley Arbaugh and Michael Wimer; and two brothers, William “Bill” Siron and G. Rudolph Siron; and a son-in-law, Vernon Wimer.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, August 25, 2019 at Obaugh Funeral Home with pastors Chip Hill and Todd Pyle officiating. Burial will follow in Beverage Memorial Cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6-8 p.m., Saturday, August 24, at the funeral home.
Active pallbearers will be Camden Miller, Mickey Strunk, Steven Arbaugh, Jason Arbaugh, Wyatt Arbaugh, Caden Arbaugh, Jacob Pyle and Eli Pyle.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Beverage Memorial Cemetery, c/o Jim Beverage, 3256 Churchville Ave, Staunton, VA 24401.
