Gilbert Moomaw

Gilbert “Dunbar” Moomaw, 71, of Richmond passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital.

Dunbar was born October 4, 1949 in Charlottesville, a son of the late Gilbert Franklin and Federica (Hamlet) Moomaw.

Mr. Moomaw was a graduate of King George High School, a veteran of the United States Air Force and member of Dahlgren United Methodist Church.

He enjoyed time spent traveling with his sister to attend “old school” wrestling matches and loved animals, especially his beloved cats.  Above all, he will be remembered for his kind heart and innocent soul.

He is survived by his sister, Polly Turner of Monterey; brother, Randy Moomaw of Ashland, TN; special friend, Don Wienand of Bowling Green; as well as many cousins.

The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
