George Billings

MONTEREY, VA George Edward Billings, 61, of Monterey passed away Friday, September 6, 2013 at his home. He was born April 27, 1952 in Chicago, IL, the son of the late Mary and Russell Billings O'Brien. Mr. Billings was an over- the- road truck driver and an avid collector of old movies and science fiction books. He was of the Catholic faith. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents, Alma and Paul Billings and his step-daughter, Kelly Nugent. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hope (Holland) Billings, whom he married September 30, 1983; four step-children, Patrick R.R. Nugent of Dallas, TX, Mark E.F. Nugent of Raleigh, NC, Rebecca Nugent Stidham of Haymarket and Elizabeth Nugent of Alexandria; five step-grandchildren and his brother-in-law, David C. Holland of Monterey. A memorial mass will be conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Saint Elizabeth Ann Seton Catholic Parish in Franklin, WV with Father Mario Claro officiating.
