Geneva Simmons Propst, 85, of Sugar Grove, W. Va., died Tuesday night (April 7, 1992) at the Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg.
She was born February 24, 1907 at Doe Hill, Va., and was the daughter of James M. and Rebecca (Helmick) Simmons.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Propst, who died on Aug. 16, 1969, and a grandson.
She was a member of the Crummett Run Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by a daughter, and son-in-law, Margaret Martha Propst and Warren M. Mitchell of Sugar Grove; five sisters, Lena Eavey of Harrisonburg, Catherine Constantino of Cathedral City, Calif., Orpha Varner of Headwaters, Va., Violet Fauber of Staunton, and Frances Dean of Waynesboro, a brother, Glen Simmons of Auburn, N.Y.; three grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday in the Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. William R. Watson and the Rev. Charles Leatherman. Burial will be in the Crummett Run Cemetery.
Active Pallbearers will be Dennis Bodkin, Nelson Simmons, Ivan England, Robert Vest, Eldon Eckard, Wilmer Botkin, Donald Evans and Robert Simmons.
