Geneva Wilfong Mitchell

Geneva (Wilfong) Marshall, 81, died Saturday, January 11, 1992 at Oak Hill Nursing Home.

She was born February 20, 1910 at Hightown, a daughter of Howard Wesley and Martha Jane (Simmons) Wilfong.

She was a member of Crabbottom Presbyterian Church and the women's circle. Her husband, James Newman Marshall, died January 7, 1973.

Survivors include two daughters, Martha Lynn Hammer of Waynesboro and Rebecca M. Eckard of Staunton; two sons, James of Staunton and Everett Marshall of Mustoe; a brother, Walker Wilfong of Hightown; and eight grandchildren, James H. Marshall Jr., Daniel R. Marshall, Steve R. Marshall, Tamara M. Brings, Deborah Hartman, Tonia M. Comer, Tony R. Marshall, and Penny R. Stump; as well as16 great-grandchildren.

A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. C. William Cox and Jerry Ginn. Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be James H. Marshall Jr., Daniel R., Steven R., Tony R. and Robert Marshall Sr., Keith Comer, Mike Stump and Robert H. Wilfong.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 830 tonight at the funeral home.
