Gaynelle (Patterson) Siron

Gaynelle (Patterson) Siron, age 82, widow of Eddie Arnold Siron, of Monterey, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2023 at her home.

She was born January 9, 1941 in Staunton, a daughter of the late Thomas William and Lottie Beatrice (Swisher) Patterson.

Mrs. Siron was a woman of tremendous faith and member of Highland Baptist Church.  Over the years Gaynelle lovingly cared for her homebound children, Tim and Sherrie. Throughout that experience Gaynelle’s perseverance and unending support to her children served as an example and inspiration to many.  In addition to her work in the home, she was employed 18 years with Hanover Shoe Company, as well as an additional 14 years with Highland VPAS preparing Meals on Wheels.  She will be remembered for her exceptional baking and meals, but above all, the love she had for her Lord and family.

In addition to her parents and late husband, predeceased family members include her daughters, Kelly S. Botkin and Sherrie Lynn Siron; her son, Timothy A. Siron; as well as sisters, Nancy Patterson and Dolly Mae Fitzgerald.

Surviving family members include granddaughters, Kim Kirk and husband, Justin of Franklin, WV, Laura Perry of Churchville, and Megan Botkin of Monterey; great-grandchildren, Madison, Macie and Colin Kirk, as well as Asher Perry and Sutton Offenbacker; sister, Minnie Koehn of Greensburg, KS; her brother, George Patterson of Staunton; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

The staff of Obaugh Funeral Home will receive those wishing to pay their respects throughout the day and into the evening on Monday, February 27, 2023, between the hours of 9 a.m. - 8 p.m.

A graveside service will be held 1 p.m., Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in McKendree Cemetery with Rev. Mark Davis officiating.

Active pallbearers are Justin Kirk, Michael Warf, Ernie Hartless, Marty Bowers, Olen Siron, and members of Highland Baptist Church in attendance.
