Gary Wayne Rexrode, 66, of Crimora, passed away April 26, 2021 at his home.
He was born in Staunton, January 5, 1955, a son of the late Andrew Wesley and Ella Nora (Rexrode) Rexrode.
Known for his strong work ethic, Gary owned and operated Rexrode Home appliance in Monterey and worked as a material handler for various companies in the Valley until taking early retirement due to his decline in health.
A devout Christian, Gary was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church and attended Forest Chapel Church of the Brethren. He loved the outdoors, especially being out on the golf course with friends, hunting and fishing with his daughter, as well as picnicking and playing Rook with family and friends. Gary was a lifelong UNC Tarheel men’s basketball fan and enjoyed watching the Washington Nationals play. He had the “gift of gab,” and never met a stranger. Additionally, he will be remembered for his sense of humor, always having a joke to share; his willingness to lend a hand and his compassion for injured or abandoned cats. Above all, family was Gary’s top priority and will be forever missed as a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, son, as well as friend to many.

Rexrode of Crimora; daughter, Andrea Renee Rexrode of Crimora; step-mother, Mary Frances Rexrode of Verona; brother, Andrew Delmas Rexrode and wife, Barbara of Fishersville; sister, Audrey Elaine Moats and husband, Delmas of Staunton; step-sisters, Nancy Harvey of Harrisonburg and Patsy Lambert and husband, Mike of Verona; brother-in-law, J.D.
