Galen Botkin

Galen Leroy Botkin, 49, of Moyers, WV, died on Wednesday, January 29, 1998, at his residence.

He was born on September 28, 1948 at Harrisonburg, a son of Glen Sr. and Nellie Gay (Hoover) Botkin.

He was a farmer.

On March 6, 1971, he married Arlene W. Alt.

He was a member of Totten Chapel Church and the Rockingham Farm Bureau. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was also a member of Sugar Grove VFW Post and drove the school bus in Pendleton County for two and a half years.

In addition to  his wife, Arlene Botkin of Moyers, he is survived by two daughters, Pamela Lynn of Harrisonburg and Tina Gail Botkin, of the home; a sister, Martha Key Kimble of Moyers; two brothers, Glen Jr. of McDowell and Jerry Allen Botkin of Blue Grass; and a number of nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Charles Townsend and Timothy Storck with burial in the Totten Chapel Cemetery.
