MARLINTON, WV Freemont Jackson "Jack" Via, 73, of Marlinton, WV and formerly of Clover Lick passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at Pocahontas Center. He was born August 22, 1941 in Vanderpool, VA a son of the late George Freemont and Myrtle Virginia (Lowry) Via. Jackson had worked in construction and was a drill operator. He is survived by his wife, Janice Arlene (Ryder) Via; five daughters, Virginia "Skizi" Deputy, Jackie Friel, Tresha Cassell, Shelby Kyle and Beneda Via; three sons, John Via, Richard Via and Justin Via; seventeen grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and his brother, George "Gunky" Via and wife, Brenda. He was preceded in death by three brothers, one an infant, Cliff and Rudy Via. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m. Friday, December 26, 2014 at Obaugh Funeral Home, McDowell, VA with Pastor Scott Reese officiating. Burial will follow at the Wesley Chapel Cemetery, Bolar, VA. The family will receive friends one hour before the service at the funeral home.
