Freeman Lee Puffenbarger, 48, of Sugar Grove, WV, died Wednesday, August 29, 2007 at his home. He was born February 18, 1959 in Harrisonburg, a son of the late Stover Lee and Ella Susan (Pennybacker) Puffenbarger.
Mr. Puffenbarger was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was employed at Tenneco Automotive in Harrisonburg.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Sue Puffenbarger.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Cathy Puffenbarger; a daughter and son-in-law, Miranda and Daniel Simmons of Sugar Grove, WV; two grandsons, Tristan and Austan Wagoner; a granddaughter, Kenzie Simmons; a special aunt, Mary Pennybacker of Sugar Grove, WV and mother-in-law, Lois Varner of Churchville.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m., Sunday, September 2, 2007 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell by the Rev. Calvin Bailey. Burial will be in Puffenbarger Family Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Butch, Wes and David Puffenbarger, James and Jim Smith; Jeff Shenk and Jeff Bosserman. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
