Frederica “Freddie” Hamlet Moomaw, 70, of Monterey, died Tuesday, July 17, 2001 at Augusta Medical Center.
She was born October 31, 1930 at Charlottesville, a daughter of Frederick Pannell and Annie Elizabeth (Wiseman) Hamlet.
She was a homemaker. She attended the Monterey United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Monterey United Methodist Women and attended the Highland Senior Citizens.
Her husband, Gilbert Franklin Moomaw, preceded her in death in 1975.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Polly M. and J. Miller Turner of Monterey; two sons, Dunbar Moomaw, of Dahlgren and Randy Moomaw of Nashville, Tenn; a sister, Rosemary Buckle of Eden, N.C.; a brother, Frederick P. Hamlet Jr. of Sun City, Az.; and five step-grandchildren.
Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday at Monterey United Methodist Church by the Rev. Stephanie Wilson, with burial at the Historyland Memorial Park in King George County.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home.
