Everett "Shorty" Shultz

Everett Stewart "Shorty" Shultz, 66, of Montreey, died Thursday morning, May 25, 1995 at the Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Marlinton, WV.

He was born August 9, 1928 at Mill Gap, a son of John Ashby and Mary Margaret (Gum) Shultz.

He was a member of the Beulah Presbyterian Church and a charter member of the Mill Gap Ruritan Club. For a number of years he worked as a livestock grader for the Virginia Division of Marketing. He was a farmer and a member of the Highland-Bath Cattle Association. He was a veteran of the Army and had served in Japan during the Korean Conflict in the 1st Calvary.

Surviving are a brother, Albert Shultz of Mill Gap; two sisters, Mary S. Graham and Ulreca G. Shultz, both of Goshen; by five nieces and nephews David Graham of Fishersville, Jack Graham of Goshen, Cappie S. Hull of Hightown, Sherry S. Sullenberger of Monterey and Mary S. Moomaw of Orkney Spring; and a special friend Betty H. Burgord of Frost, WV.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Capitola Black Shultz.

A service will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Robert Haley and Pastor Chip HIll, with burial in the Hightown Cemetery with military rites.

Pallbearers will be Mac Hill, Dan Foster, Mike Armstrong, Wayne Arbogast, Douglas Gutshall and Daniel Baldwin.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 at the funeral home.
