MUSTOE, VA Everett Winston Marshall, 77, of Mustoe, passed away Saturday, May 18, 2013 at University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born May 10, 1936 in Blue Grass a son of the late James Newman and Geneva Mae (Wilfong) Marshall. A maintenance mechanic, Everett had been employed by Bacova Guild, Jessico and Aileen Inc. Formerly a member of Blue Grass United Methodist Church, he moved his membership to Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church, where he served as trustee. He was a member of the Highland County Bowling League, and an avid outdoorsman, who loved to hunt and fish and acquired many trophies from his fishing trips in international waters. Additionally, Everett will be remembered as an ardent horseman, who enjoyed his Tennessee Walking Horses and the riding circuit. His beloved wife of 56 years, Janet Marie (Corbett) Marshall preceded him in death on May 2, 2013. He was also predeceased by his sister, Rebecca Eckard and brother, James H. Marshall. He is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Tonia M. and W. Keith Comer of Savannah, GA; his son and daughter-in-law, Tony R. and Traci M. Marshall of Mustoe; three grandchildren, Lauren B. comer of Mooresville, NC, William Matthew Comer of Raleigh, NC and Casey C. Siron of McDowell; sister, Martha Lynn Hammer of Staunton; two step-grandchildren, Jennifer L. Jolin of Raphine and April L. Jolin of Chester and a number of nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with the Rev. Andre Crummett and Pastor Kenny Carroll officiating. Burial will follow in MontereyCemetery. Jimmy and Steve Marshall, David Caywood, Allen Lowry, Allen G. Lowry and Richard Waybright will serve as active pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will be Eugene Ratcliffe, Jamie Will, Rudy Armstrong, Rick Griffin, Buddy Hunt, Henry Harper and Fred Frye. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to The American Cancer Society, c/o Norma Reynolds, 3052 Mill Gap Rd, Monterey, VA or Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church, c/o Irene McAllister, P.O.
