Eva Grace Harper, 101, of Stuarts Draft and formerly of the Forks of Water community in Highland County, died Monday, June 2, 2008 at Stuarts Draft Christian Home. She was born August 12, 1906 in Highland County a daughter of the late Sullie and Florence (Fleisher) Beverage.
On June 28, 1927, she married Dillon Emory Harper who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by a sister, Ethel May Bible.
Mrs. Harper was a homemaker. She was a member of the Mount Pisgah United Methodist Church and the Mount Pisgah Craft Ladies. She was a former member of the Forks of Water United Methodist Church and the Harper Chapel United Methodist Church.
She is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Ruth and Earl Bowers of Fredericksburg and Doris and Robert Timberlake of Fredericksburg; a son and daughter-in-law, Orris “Dale” Harper of Fort Defiance; eight grandchildren, Judy Augst, Kimberly Aldizer, William Harper, Teresa Turner, Jeffrey Bowers, Cheryl Bowley and Brian and Brent Timberlake; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Thursday, June 5, 2008 at Mt. Pisgah United Methodist Church with the Rev. John Crawford, III officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. in the Harper Family Cemetery in Pendleton County, WV. Pallbearers will be William Harper, Jeffrey Bowers, Brian Timberlake, Brent Timberlake, Robert Augst, Tom Bowley, David Aldizer, Scott Turner, Robert Dale Augst, Scott Turner, Jr., Chris Turner, Justin Bowers and Tyler Bowley.
The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell and one hour prior to the service at the church.
