Eugene Elliott “Rusty” Fulton, 58, of Mill Gap, and formerly of Goochland, died Monday, September 1, 2003 at his home.
He was born June 7, 1945 in Highland County, a son of the late Charles and Ora Hull Fulton.
On February 23, 1968, he married Linda Bird.
Mr. Fulton was a member of Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church and served in the U.S. Army. He had 23 years of service with AT&T and was president of Quality Communications of Virginia in Richmond for eight years.
He moved back to his farm in Mill Gap in 1999.
He was preceded in death in death by a brother, Charles Kenton Fulton.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Fulton of Mill Gap; two sons and daughters-in-law, Kevin E. and Shelly B. Fulton of Rockville and Christopher W. and Kristian H. Fulton of Goochland; two grandsons, Logan and Ryan Fulton; five sisters, Norma Gum of Canton, Ohio, C.J. Hiner of Houston, Texas, Eunice Brockenbrough of Buena Vista, Jane Rossen of Frederick, Md. and Susan Smith of Irvington.
A funeral service was conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 4, at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Donald E. Rose. Burial was in Green Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers were Michael Armstrong, Bill Wagner, J.B. Hull, Steve Stephenson, Richard Waybright and Richard Hicks.
Honorary pallbearers were friends attending the service.
