BURNSVILLE, VA Ester Loraine "Beanie" Roberts, 75, of the Burnsville, passed away Thursday, September 17, 2015 at Bath Community Hospital. She was born July 22, 1940 in Alleghany County a daughter of the late Hugh Rosser and Esther Marie (Webb) Wooddell. She was a homemaker and a member of the Burnsville United Methodist Church. She enjoyed music and singing, bingo, embroidery, and a good joke. Beanie will be remembered for her love of life, love of family, and most especially time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cletis Anderson Roberts, Sr.; son, Cletis Roberts, Jr.; grandson, Joey Roberts; and brother, Hugh "Toby" Wooddell, Jr. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lorie and Leonard Neil of Burnsville, Deena and Danny Neil of Williamsville and Lisa Hise of Buena Vista; grandchildren, Nicole Smith of Craigsville, Adam Neil and Ashley Neil both of Burnsville, Christina Botkin and husband, Teddy of LaFayette, TN, Scottie Neil and wife, Laci of Doe Hill, Laura Hise of Buena Vista and Brittany Hise of Millboro; and great-grandchildren, Clayton Smith, Peyton and Trevor Neil and Ethan Huffman. She also leaves behind her sister, Shirley Colvin of Warm Springs; two brothers, Billy Allen and Skippy Allen, both of Burnsville; special friend, Susie Hickman of Burnsville; special friend and caregiver, Roger Smith of Burnsville, whom she thought of as a son; and a great number of nieces, nephews and cousins. A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Wednesday, September 23, 2015 at Burnsville United Methodist Church with the Pastor Lorrie Aikens officiating. Burial will follow in Burnsville Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Kenny Phillips, Glenn Lowry, Charles Rucker, Jamie Roberts, Jack Lindsey, Steven Nelson, Rusty Allen, Jr., Anthony Lockridge and Curtis Lockridge. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Additionally, a meal will be served in the church's fellowship hall following the committal service where the family will once more visit with friends.
