Emory Dean Fleisher Sr., 71 of Franklin, died Wednesday, October 30, 2002, at Rockingham Memorial Hospital in Harrisonburg, Va.
He was born July 6, 1931, in Franklin and was a son of Charles William and Daisy Nell Harper Fleisher.
He had worked in the maintenance department at Hanover Shoe Company for 16 years. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Moyers, and attended Christ Central Church at Upper Tract.
He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of the VFW Post 9666 in Sugar Grove.
On July 30, 1955, he married the former Edith Waybright, who survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Elizabeth Alt of Petersburg; two sons, Emory D. Fleisher Jr. of Franklin and Michael d. Waybright of Fredericksburg, Va.; two brothers, John R. Fleisher of Harrisonburg, Va. and Eston S. Fleisher of Franklin; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
The Rev. Edgar Null will conduct a funeral service 2 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Blue Grass Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. this evening at the funeral home.
