Emmor R. Hoover, 79, of Waynesboro, died on Sunday, June 2, 1996 at University of Virginia Medical Center.
He was born on April 28, 2917 at Sugar Grove, WV, a son of Virgil and Mertie (Mitchell) Hoover.
He was a Lutheran. He was a World War II Navy Veteran serving from 1935-1945 aboard the USS New Mexico. He was active in the Boy Scouts of America for 34 years furing whch he received the silver Beaver Award. He was a member of the Prince William Archery Club.
Surviving are his widow, Dorothy (Doyle) Hoover of Waynesboro; daughter and son-in-law Betse and Mike Kelly of Waynesboro; son and daughter-in-law John and Marian Hoover of Marshall; sister Betty Jane O'Donnell of Daytona, Fl. and Brandywine, WV; brother, Gernon Hoover of Moyers, WV; and grandson, Joseph Hoover of Marshall.
A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Lutheran Church at Sugar Grove, WV, by the Rev. Robert Schmidt, with burial at Sugar Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 7-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home.
