Emma Louise (Mackey) Wilson, 86, of Grottoes, passed away, Thursday, August 5, 2021 at Kings Daughters Community Health and Rehabilitation Center in Staunton.
She was born August 17, 1934 in Williamsville, a daughter of the late Howard Samuel and Margaret (Hupman) Mackey.
Mrs. Wilson had worked at Aileen, Inc. in Monterey, as well as GE in Waynesboro until her retirement to become a full-time homemaker. She enjoyed needle work, photography, traveling to yard sales and attending family reunions. Above all, she loved visiting with family and friends and time spent with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 42 years, William Irving Wilson of Grottoes; daughter, Donna Simmons Childress of Louisville, KY; sister, Nancy M. Oliver and husband, Bill of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Matthew Webster Childress and Natalie Louise Childress; as well as nephews, Howard and Clarence Wilson; and niece, Karen Marshall.
In addition to her parents, predeceased family members include a sister, Annabelle Wilson; and brother, Roy Mackey.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, August 9, 2021 at Obaugh Funeral Home with minister Ansel Seeds, Jr. officiating. Burial will follow in Doe Hill Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be Randy Chandler, Larry and Joe Armstrong, Bill Oliver, Jerry Wilson and Matt Childress.
