Emma Horne

March 11, 1922 — September 14, 2001

Emma L. Horne, 79, formerly of Front Royal, died Friday, September 14, 2001 at her residence.

She was born March 11, 1922 at Blue Grass, a daughter of Fannie Ethel Nelson.

She retired from Mackey’s Vending Company in Verona after 22 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack Anderson; a son, William Anderson; and a sister Audrey Hiner.

Survivors are her husband, Robert Horme of Dumfries; two daughters, Emma L. Switzer of Elkton and Virginia M. Ford of Woodbridge; two sons, Gilbert Anderson of Arbovale, W.Va. and Charles Anderson of Ashland; two brothers, Quenton nelson of Wisconsin and Harry Simmons of Staunton; three sisters, Katherine McCarty of Akron, Ohio; Agnes Bennett of Arbovale, W.Va. and Judith Adams of Charlottesville; 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Obaugh Funeral Home with pastor W.L. Henkle officiating.

Burial will be in Blue Grass Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Ray Sykes, Ralph Anderson, William Ford, John Reed and Brandon and Robert Smith. The family will receive friends 4-6 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
