Elvert Eckard

Elvert E. "Ernie" Eckard, 56, died on Thursday, January 14, 1999 at Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton.

He was born On December 20, 1942, at Highland County, a son of Ernest and Abbie Catharine (Smith) Eckard.

He was a timber cutter for Richard Pace Logging at Woodstock.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Julie Virginia Griffin.

Surviving are three brothers, Algen P. of Churchville, Charlie P. of Baltimore, MD and Ernest Junior Eckard of Culpeper; and 11 nieces and nephews.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Monday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Dennis Sites with burial in Head Waters Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Shad Conner, Harold and Harry Griffin, John Miller, Marvin Gulley and Alvin Cook.

Honorary pallbearers will be relatives and friends in attendance.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of Woody Eckard.
