Elva Grace “Buckie” Grogg, 84, of Waynesboro and formerly of Blue Grass, died Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Augusta Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born May 21, 1924 in Frank, WV a daughter of the late Joseph Andrew and Rachel Ann (Arbogast) Puffenbarger.
Mrs. Grogg was a homemaker and a former member of the Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Homer Grogg, a sister, Helen Hull and a brother, Amos Puffenbarger.
She is survived by three daughters, Betty Jean and husband, Bedford Lowry of Waynesboro; Patricia Ann Grogg of Waynesboro and Judy Lyles of Staunton; a son, W.J. Puffenbarger of New Carrollton, MD; a sister, Katherine Daugherty of College Park, MD; seven grandchildren, including three special grandchildren, Steven Grogg, Victoria Griffin and Laurasteen Lowry and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted 2 p.m., Sunday, October 19, 2008 at Obaugh Funeral Home in McDowell with Paul Doyle officiating. Burial will be in Union Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be friends attending the service. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
