Elva Susan Gutshall

Elva Susan Gutshall, 87, of Staunton and formerly of Highland County, died Saturday night, February 1, 1992 in Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

She was born February 14, 1904 at Bolar, a daughter of Mustoe and Sallie (Carpenter) Hamilton.

Her husband, Jake Gutshall, preceded her in death on July 11, 1969. 

She was a member of the Wesley Chapel Advent Christian Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Ruth Halterman of Staunton; a son, Marvin Gutshall of Richmond; a brother, Willis Hamilton of Hot Springs; and seven grandchildren; one great-grand daughter; and two step-great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Zelma Jane Wimer on August 15, 1989.

A service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Dennis Sites. Burial will follow in Wesley Chapel Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Omar H. King, Bobby Hamilton, Grant and Byron Gutshall, Glenn Buzzard and Guy Wimer.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 830 tonight at the funeral home.
