Ellis Cameron Hoover, 80, of Moyers, WV, died Thursday, May 3, 2007 at Rockingham Memorial Hospital. He was born September 21, 1926 at Doe Hill a son of the late Cameron William and Bertie (Snyder) Hoover.
He was a carpenter and a self-employed auto mechanic. He was a member of Franklin Moose Lodge.
Mr. Hoover served in the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during WWII.
He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Hoover; a sister, Lurline Mitchell and three brothers, Everett, Eugene and J. Herbert Hoover.
He is survived by his caregiver and daughter-in-law, Pat Hoover of Sugar Grove, WV; a daughter, Martha Jane Hodge of Churchville; three granddaughters, Lisa Conner, Heather Brubeck and April Hogsett; a great-granddaughter, Amber Conner and a brother, William R. Hoover of Staunton.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m., Sunday, May 6, 2007 at Hoover Family Cemetery near Moyers. Active pallbearers will be Tom Raines, Andy Alt, Mike Miller, Dan Gabriel, Eddie Malcolm and Jim Hinkle. Honorary pallbearers will be Elmo Varner, Earl Moats, Steve Armstrong and Leo Schwartz.
