Elizabeth McCall

In loving memory of Elizabeth Ann McCall, 79, of Winchester, who passed away Wednesday, February 21 , 2018 at Winchester Medical Center.

She was born in Washington, D.C. on September 3, 1938, a daughter of the late Elmer Theodore Sowers and Sibil (Mullenax) Sowers.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Teddy Sowers and a sister, Pat Beamer.

Ms. McCall had retired from the County of Fairfax as a custodian. She was a loving mother and grandmother and shared a love for animals, especially her beloved dog, Papi. She always made donations to the SPCA and to American Indian Association.

She is survived by her four daughters, Betty Veruete of Winchester, Vickie Martin of Winchester, Tammy McCall of Denver, Co. and Pamela Balderas of Culpeper; brother, Jimmy Sowers of Tennessee; as well as many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2018 at Obaugh Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Blue Grass Cemetery.

The family suggest memorial donations be made to Ester Boyd Animal Shelter, 161 Fort Collier Rd., Winchester , Va. 22603.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
