Earl McCray

September 13, 1926 — March 24, 2001

Earl Howard McCray, 74, of head Waters, died Saturday, March 24, 2001 at Oak Hill Center.

He was born September 13, 1926, at Head Waters, a son of Wen Ressler and Loui (Armstrong) McCray.

He was a member of Head Waters Presbyterian Chapel, the McDowell Ruritan Club and the McDowell Volunteer Fire Department.

He was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Lonnie Armstrong and Porter, Charles and Peyton McCray; five sisters, Ogretta Phillips, Lucy Botkin, Gertrude Warner, Elizabeth Hicklin and Anna Lou Ralston; and a nephew, Robin Botkin.

Survivors include a brother, Leo McCray of McDowell; eight nephews; eight nieces; great-nieces; and great nephews.

A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. this morning at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Lester LaPrade and Glenn Davis with burial at Head Waters cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Owen Botkin, Mark, Steve, Michael and Bob Ralston Jr., William and Bob McCray and Chuck Botkin.

Honorary pallbearers will be friends in attendance.

The family received from 7-9 p.m. Monday at he funeral home.
