Dorothy Lee Simmons, 59, of Mustoe, died Saturday, June 6, 2001 at her residence.
She was born May 3, 1942, in Staunton, a daughter of John Benson and Della Coffelt.
She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Virginia Hot Springs Co. and at Jessico.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister.
Survivors include her husband of 40 years, Clement M. Simmons of Monterey; two daughters and a son-in-law, Delana May and Charles Y. Kelly of Monterey, and Betty Denise Simmons of Monterey; a son, Bobby G. Simmons of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Jessica DeAscentis, Sarah Kelly and the twins, Stephen and Steffanie Mitchell, all of Monterey; and two sisters, May Ann Wingfield and Betty Lou Byrd, both of Stuarts Draft.
A service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Revs. Charles Turner and Glen Adkins with burial in Green Hill Cemetery in Churchville.
Pallbearers will be Ezra Halterman, Gideon Hiner, Charlie Hupman, Andy Botkin, Gene Moyers, Perry Warner, Carlton Hull and Bill Wagner.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Church of God of Prophecy.
The family will receive friends from 7-9 this evening at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to the Church of God of Prophecy, Monterey.
