Donald Hull

MONTEREY, VA Donald Gene "Duck" Hull, age 65, of Monterey, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 7, 2015 at his home. He was born July 4, 1949 in Mustoe, a son of Thelma Mae (Doyle) Hull and the late Russell Edward Hull. Mr. Hull was a veteran of the US Army having served honorably during the Vietnam War. A truck driver, Mr. Hull was a longtime employee of the Highland Oil Company and most recently Spruce Hill Excavating. He will be remembered as an avid NASCAR fan and for his passion of truck pulling. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother and sister-in-law, Delmas and Elva Doyle. Surviving family members include his mother of Monterey; partner and lifelong friend, Vickie Hoover of Monterey; two daughters and sons-in-law, Meranda and Bob Lokey of Broadway, and Lacy and Jon Graham of Lutherville, MD; his "four legged" daughter and beloved pet, Biffie; three granddaughters, Aliza Lokey, Ellie Lokey and Chloe Graham; grandson, Connor Graham; four brothers and sisters-in-law, Gary "Beef" and Kay Hull of Monterey, Allen "Radar" and JoAnn Hull of Monterey, Russell Lee "Beatle" and Mellissa Hull of Monterey, and Larry "Sop" and Jeanne Lou of Monterey; sister and brother-in law, Carol Ann and Larry Maynard of Warm Springs; brother-in-law, Pete Kay of Warm Springs; a number of nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. A funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 10, 2015 at Victory Chapel Advent Christian Church with the Rev. Beth Pyles officiating. Interment will follow in Monterey Cemetery. Those wishing to attend the funeral may choose to attend the committal portion of the service in Monterey Cemetery taking into consideration the size of the family as well as the church. Active pallbearers include Brad and Scott Hull, Trey Williams, Danny Hull, Jamie Will, and Travis Kay. Donald's nieces will serve as honorary pallbearers. The family will receive friend from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at the funeral home.
