Donald Coyner

CHURCHVILLE, VA

Donald “Cobb” Ray Coyner, 58, of Churchville went to be with his Lord, Wednesday, June 8, 2016.  He was born May 14, 1958 in Staunton a son of the late Silas Clinton and Freida Juanita (VanHoose) Coyner.

For 30 years, Donald was employed by Shenandoah Valley Electric Corporation. He attended Union Presbyterian Church.   An avid outdoorsman, he especially enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Most of all Donald was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather, who loved spending time with his granddaughters.

Surviving family members include his wife of 36 years, Tammy (Conner) Coyner whom he married on August 29, 1980; daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Brent Young of Staunton; son and daughter-in-law, Toby and Heather Coyner of Churchville; two beautiful granddaughters, Lynnley and Adalynn, whom he adored and lovingly called “his little monkeys”; two brothers, Ervin Coyner and Debbie of West Augusta and S.C. Coyner, Jr. and wife, Donna of Staunton; two sisters, Brenda Losh and Pat Losh both of Staunton; his father-in-law, Toby Conner of Churchville; three brothers-in-law, Richie “Shag” Conner and Eunice of Edinburg, Douglas “Droop” Conner and Penny and Tony “Doody” Conner, all of Churchville; and his special dogs, Ellie Mae and Willow.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his nephew, Luke Coyner and his mother-in-law, Vera Conner.

A graveside service will be conducted 2 p.m., Saturday, June 11, 2016 in Union Presbyterian Church Cemetery with the Rev. Judy Hensley officiating.

Active pallbearers are Denny Pierce, Mike McCune, Jeff Troxell, Barry Shiflett, Allen Desper, Jeremy Ambler, Danny Griffin and Scott Austin.  Donald’s co-workers will serve as honorary pallbearers.

The family will receive friends half an hour prior to the service at the cemetery and at other times at the home.
