Dennis Simmons

Dennis Wayne Simmons, 58, of Greenville, and formerly of Monterey, passed away Monday, April 6, 2020 at his residence.

He was born at Bath Community Hospital on June 22, 1961, a son of Nancy Viola (Seward) Simmons and the late Andrew “Nelson” Simmons.

Dennis never met a stranger and will be remembered for his kind, friendly nature. He was an avid fisherman, loved sports, music, and was loved dearly by many.

In addition to his mother of Monterey, he is survived by his daughter, Jessica Flannagan and husband, David of Roanoke; grandson, Colton Flannagan of Roanoke; brother, Kevin Simmons of Monterey; sister, Tredena Young of Taylor, Michigan; nephews, Derek “Gage” Simmons and Chris Young; as well as nieces Amy and Nikki Young.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Margie Simmons, with whom the family resided with for many years.

The family will hold a private memorial service at a later date.
