Dennis B. Armstrong SR.

Dennis B. “Pete” Armstrong Sr., 88, of HCR 02, McDowell, died on Friday evening, December 18, 1992.

He was born on Jan. 3, 1904 at McDowell, a son of Jacob Hoover and Bertha (Sipel) Armstrong.

 He was employed for 16 years by the Virginia Department of Transportation and was retired from Westvaco in Covington after 25 years of employment.

He is survived by his widow, Clariece Armstrong of McDowell; a son, Dennis B. Armstrong Jr. of Deerfield Road, Millboro; two half brothers, Joe Arch and Fred C. Armstrong, both of Deerfield; and a niece, Dorothy Lamb of Staunton.

A service will be conducted at Obaugh Funeral Home by Rev. Steve McMillion, with burial at McKendree Cemetery near McDowell.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Wilson, Kyle and Brent Obaugh and Wade, Jake, and Alfred Armstrong.
