Debra “Debbie” Kay (Hull) Colaw, 53, of Blue Grass passed away Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at her home. She was born February 15, 1963 in Bath County a daughter of Mary Ellen (Hefner) Hull of Doe Hill and the late Henry “June” Harrison Hull, Jr.
A member of Blue Grass United Methodist Church, Debbie loved to sing and was a very talented and creative person - her most memorable project was remodeling her house. Within the community, she will be fondly remembered for her generosity and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Family members include her husband of 22 years, John M. Colaw; her mother, Mary Ellen Hull; step-son, John C. Colaw of Waynesboro; step-daughter, Rebecca “Becky” C. Huddleston and husband, Daryl of Blue Ridge; grandson, Ian Huddleston; brother, Dennis H. Hull and wife, Lisa of Doe Hill; nephew, Ben H. Hull of Doe Hill; her black lab, Cash; as well as close friends too numerous to count.
A funeral service will be conducted 1 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Obaugh Funeral Home with the Rev. Andre Crummett officiating. Burial will follow in Blue Grass Cemetery.
Active pallbearers include Jackie Will, Jimmie Will, Jacob Colaw, Gray Honaker, Larry Whitecotton, Mike Marshall, Jeff Shumate, David Wimer and T.J. Honaker; and friends will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday at Obaugh Funeral Home.
