Dale W. Bussard

The funeral for Dale W. Bussard, 63, of Bolar was held at Valley Bethel Church of the Brethren.

The Revs. James Wiley and Steve Mason conducted the service. Burial followed in Valley Bethel Cemetery.

Mr. Bussard died Feb. 28, 1993 in Rockingham Memorial Hospital.

He was born Jan. 13, 1930 in Bolar, a son of Vernie Miller Bussard of Springs Nursing Center in Hot Springs and the late Eutis Bussard.

He was a livestock farmer and poultry raiser, a member of the board of directors of the Highland Coop, a member of the Highland County Cattle and Sheep Association. He was a member of Valley Bethel Church of the Brethren and the Bolar Ruritan Club and had served in the U.S. Army.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Thelma Bussard of Bolar; a daughter, Diane Puffenbarger of Bolar; a son, Eugene Bussard of Weyers Cave; three sisters, Irva B. Smith, Lennis B. Lockridge and Lenna B. Carroll, all of Staunton; a brother, Ward M. Bussard of Mustoe; and three grandchildren.
