Dahlia Ruckman Waggoner, 87, of Hightown died Wednesday, November 10, 2004 at her home. She was born June 2, 1917, in Hightown, a daughter of the late John Arthur and Clemmie Virginia Hevener Ruckman.
Mrs. Waggoner was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of the Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
On April 29, 1944, she married Roy Lee Waggoner. The celebrated their 60 th wedding anniversary this year.
She is survived e her husband, Roy Lee Waggoner Sr. of Hightown; two sons and daughters-in-law, Roy Lee Jr. and Judy Waggoner of Blue Grass and Gerald and Linda Waggoner of Pittsburgh, Pa.; three daughters and sons-in-laws, Carol and Gary Swecker of Franklin, W.Va. Judy and Andy Hupman of Hightown and Darlene and Alan Puffenbarger of Monterey; seven grandchildren, Kristina Meris and her husband Jonathan, Bryan Werner, Stephanie McCoy and her husband Dan, Eric Waggoner, Jon Swecker, Daniel Swecker and Michael Hupman; two great-grandsons, Joshua and Jack McCoy, and two brothers, Virgil Ruckman of Clearwater, Fla., and Johnnie Ruckman of Selma, Al.
A sister, Wreathia Ruckman and two brothers, Arnold and Elmer Ruckman, preceded her in death.
A funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2004 at the Union Chapel United Methodist Church by the Rev. Richard Gibson and the Rev. Andre Crummett. Burial will be at the Union Chapel Cemetery.
Active pallbearers will be the grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Obaugh Funeral Home.
