Cora Varner Botkin, 93, of McDowell, died Monday, February 5, 2001, at Oak Hill Center.
She was born October 7, 1907 at McDowell, a daughter of George Williams and Sallie Cathern (Botkin) Varner.
On June 4, 1931, she married Paul Silas Botkin, who preceded her in death in 1966. She was also preceded in death by two daughters; four sons; a grandson; five sisters; a brother; and a half-brother.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of Hiner Church of the Brethren and the Home Demonstration Club.
Survivors include a son, J. Richard Botkin of McDowell; a sister Beulah (Varner) Botkin of McDowell; a half-sister, Bertha Turner of Verona; nieces; and nephews.
A service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Gerald Senger, with burial in Doe Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Delbert Rexrode, Jr., Nelson Simmons, Butch Britt, Benny Armstrong, Herbert Botkin, Glenn Botkin Jr., Ray Kisamore and Charles Varner.
Honorary pallbearers will be Farrell Canup, Sandy Mitchell, Donnie Armstrong, Doug and Drew Britt, Johnny Whitecotton, Gernon Hoover, Larry Armstrong, Bob McCray, Jack and Dean Beverage, Ray Eagle, Gary and Steve Kisamore, Bill Puffenbarger, Toby Siron, Douglas Botkin, Johnny Puffenbarger, Ralph Simmons and Bill Huffman.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 tonight at the funeral home.
