Clyde Puffenbarger

Clyde Rubert Puffenbarger, 86, of Head Waters died Sunday, July 21, 2001 in the V.A. Medical Center in Martinsburg, W.Va.

He was born June 13, 1915 at the Palo Alto community of Highland County a son of George and Dorothy (McCray) Puffenbarger.

He was a self-employed painter and an Army Veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Crummett Run Church of the Brethren, VFW Post No. 9666 of Sugar Grove, W.Va., and the Disable Veterans of America.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister; two half-sisters; and two half-brothers.

Surviving are three nieces Mary Kimble of Littletown, Pa.,  Pauline Breeden of Staunton and Isabelle Kincaid of Verona; a nephew, Richard E. Simmons of Churchville; and a special friend Nancy Weaver of Cottonwood, Ala.

A service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Obaugh Funeral Home by the Rev. Jerry Smith with burial at Crummett Run Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Nelson and Allen Simmons, Elden and David Puffenbarger, John Bowers Jr., James Smith and Barlon Botkin.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the VFW Post 9666.

The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
