Clemet Halterman, 95, of Franklin, WV, passed away Friday, December 16, 2022 at his home.
He was born October 10, 1927 in Pendleton, a son of the late George Washington and Clara (Simmons) Halterman. On December 17, 1946 he married Frances Virginia Hedrick, who predeceased him July 16, 2007.
An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Halterman enjoyed time spent hunting and fishing, especially hunting deer and turkey. Clement will also be remembered as a people person, who loved visiting with family and friends. He was a member of Wayside Baptist Church and prior to his employment with Ironworkers Local 568 as an ironworker and welder, had worked as a logger and painter.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by a son, Clemet “Mike” Michael Halterman; brother, Ervin Halterman; as well as sisters, Bonnie Eye, Geneve Trail, Hazel Burchette and Maxine (Newcomb) Quarles.
Surviving family members include his daughter, Karen Harper of Franklin; sons, Cliff Halterman and wife, Jenny of Circleville, and Randall Halterman of Franklin; 11 grandchildren; as well as a number of great-grandchildren.
Obaugh Funeral Home staff members will receive those wishing to pay respects to Mr. Halterman, 5-8 p.m., Monday, December 19, 2022 and throughout the day and into the evening Tuesday, December 20th between the hours of 9 a.m. and 8 p.m.
A private committal service will be held at a later date.
