Christie Gail Botkin, 28, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002 at the University of Virginia Medical center, as the result of an automobile accident on Friday, April 5.
She was born January 26, 1974, at Charlottesville, a daughter of Vickie Gail Armstrong Botkin of Head Waters and Roger Dale Botkin of Sugar Grove, W.Va.
She was a 1992 graduate of Highland County High School, and she attended Piedmont Virginia Community College. She was employed by State Farm Insurance Company, Charlottesville.
She was preceded in death by a paternal grandmother, Violet W. Botkin, and a maternal grandfather, William R. Armstrong.
Surviving are her parents; a maternal grandmother, Shirley T. Armstrong of Charlottesville; a paternal grandfather, Clyde R. Botkin of McDowell; a paternal great-grandfather, Marvin G. Botkin of Waynesboro; aunts; uncles; cousins; and a large circle of friends.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church, located at 735 Park Street, with the Revs. Eva Marie Ireland and Mark Long officiating. Burial will be at Monticello Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Roy Martin, Buster Taylor, Chris Thacker, Eric and Billy McDaniels and Rod Ritchie.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends attending the service.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 this evening at Obaugh Funeral Home.
